Bulldogs Seek Second Straight Win Over Bears

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale closes out the 2018 season with a trip to Brown on Saturday. Kickoff at Stevenson-Pincince Field is slated for 7 p.m.

Here are notes on the season finale:

The Bulldogs (7-8-1) are looking to finish with a .500 or better overall record for the second straight year and the 18th time in Rudy Meredith's tenure as head coach.

Noelle Higginson enters the final weekend of the regular season tied for the Ivy League lead with seven assists. Higginson, a first team All-Ivy selection a year ago, has had another strong season for the Bulldogs. In Ivy games, she has played 534 of a possible 540 minutes. She also has a team-best 15 points.

Aerial Chavarin leads Yale with five goals. Three of her tallies have been game winners.

The future looks bright for the Bulldogs, whose top four scorers and starting goalkeeper will return next year.

Last year at Reese Stadium, Michelle Alozie scored the only goal of the game with 9:06 left in the second half as the Bulldogs edged the Bears 1-0.

The last six meetings between the teams have been decided by one goal.

Brown leads the all-time series 25-17-2.

Like Yale, the Bears (7-8-1) are also looking to finish .500. Brown is coming off a 6-0 victory over Delaware State on Tuesday. Abby Carchio leads the team with nine goals and 24 points. Star White has added five goals and 13 points. Goalkeeper Christine Etzel has a 1.14 goals against average and a .770 save percentage.
