career goal in Yale's 3-1 victory over Brown.
2006: One of only three rookies to appear in all
17 games... First career start came in the season opener against
Duke... Also started against Princeton, Boston University, Penn and
Brown. Before Yale: A three-time Cleveland Plain
Dealer honorable mention selection at Magnificat High School...
Captain of the 2005 team, which won the district championship...
Earned Academic All-Ohio honors... Played for Ohio Premier North,
which was the 2005 state finalist and the 2004 state champion and
regional semifinalist... Also played for the Ohio North Olympic
Development Program for five years... Helped the team to a
third-place finish at the national championship in 2003... Older
brother Jim Smith '98 played football at Yale and was an Academic
All-Ivy selection and Joe Smith Grad '08 played soccer for
Architecture Grad School Team... Political Science Major...
