Sept. 14, 2003

CAPE COD, Mass. - A weekend on Cape Cod proved very relaxing for the Yale women's soccer team. Jamie Ortega scored the only goal of the game at the 68:45 mark as the Bulldogs blanked Loyola, Ill., 1-0 to complete a perfect weekend at the ECAC Soccer Classic. Yale beat Georgetown 2-0 in the first day of the tournament on Friday.

"It was a great weekend for us," said Yale head coach Rudy Meredith. "We beat two quality opponents and didn't allow a goal."

Ortega's goal came on a 10-yard shot from the right and was her team-leading second of the season. It was assisted by April Siuda.

Sarah Walker made four saves to post her third shutout of the season. In four games this season, Walker has allowed only two goals. Defender Christina Huang was named the Yale Player of the Game.

With the win, Yale improves to 3-1 overall, while Loyola falls to 3-3 overall.
