NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Laurel Karnes scored twice and Mimi Macauley added a pair of assists as Yale blanked Fairfield 3-0 at the Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium. Freshmen Christina Huang added her first career goal as the Bulldogs cruised to their fourth straight victory.
"I'm happy with the way we created a lot of chances," said Yale head coach Rudy Meredith. "This was probably our most complete game of the season."
The Bulldogs (9-5-1) dominated the first half, outshooting the Stags 13-1, but led only 1-0 thanks to Huang's goal 58 seconds into the contest. Karnes' first goal in the 75th minute increased the lead to 2-0, and less than eight minutes later, she scored again to seal the victory. Yale outshot Fairfield 21-3 for the game.
Katie Ely and Elise Dardani combined to stop six shots for Fairfield (7-8-1).
