PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Jamie Ortega scored the winning goal just 4 minutes, 43 seconds into overtime as Yale earned a thrilling 1-0 victory over Brown at Stevenson Field. The win was the eighth straight for the Bulldogs, who also equaled the school record for victories in a season with 13. Yale finishes the regular season with a 13-4 overall record and now awaits word on an NCAA Tournament berth. The pairings will be announced on Monday.

"We've done all we can do," said Yale head coach Rudy Meredith. "It's in the committee's hands now. We knew this would be a tough game. Brown is a good team and very well coached."

The winning goal came when Ortega deflected in a Jessica Berggren cross right in front of the goal at the 94:43 mark. Yale had dominated regulation, outshooting the Bears 21-5.

Sarah Walker made four saves in goal to post her seventh shutout of the season. Hilary Wilson made 10 saves in goal for Brown, which fell to 7-10 overall and 2-5 in Ivy League play.

Ortega had several good scoring opportunities in regulation for the Bulldogs. She finished with a team-high six shots on goal.

Yale also won 13 games in 1992, 1996 and 1998.
