Bulldogs Ranked Fourth In Northeast By SoccerBuzz

Aug. 19, 2004

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's soccer team is ranked fourth in the 2004 SoccerBuzz Northeast Region preseason poll. The Bulldogs finished 2003 with an overall record of 9-7-1, the seventh time in the last eight years that they have been .500 or better. Only two players from that team graduated, so head coach Rudy Meredith is optimistic that Yale can contend for the Ivy League title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament this fall.

The Bulldogs, who open the season on Sept. 3 at Massachusetts, face a very challenging schedule. Yale plays three teams ranked in SoccerBuzz's preseason national top-30 - No. 9 Connecticut on Sept. 10, No. 3 Santa Clara on Sept. 17 and No. 27 Princeton on Sept. 24. Two of those three games (UConn and Princeton) will be in the friendly confines of the Yale Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium. 2004 Yale Schedule
