Ivy League Play Continues At Dartmouth
Oct. 9, 2008
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - So far in 2008, the road has not been kind to the Yale women's soccer team. The Bulldogs (5-5-1, 0-2 Ivy) are 5-1 in the friendly confines of Reese Stadium but are still looking for their first victory away from home. They hope to get it on Saturday when they travel to Hanover, N.H., to meet Dartmouth. Kickoff at Burnham Field is slated for 7 p.m. and fans can follow Live Stats of the game at dartmouthsports.com. Pay-per-view video also is available.
The last seven Yale-Dartmouth games have been decided by one goal or ended in a tie. Last year in New Haven, Maggie Goldstein scored the only goal of the game with 4:14 left in the second half on a direct kick from 25 yards out as the Big Green escaped with a 1-0 victory. The Bulldogs' last win in the series was a 2-1 decision in 2005.
Dartmouth (5-4-1, 0-2 Ivy) is coming off an impressive 5-0 victory over Albany on Tuesday. The Big Green has fallen to Brown and Princeton, both by 1-0 scores, in league play. Five different players have two goals for Dartmouth, and goalkeeper Laurel Peak has a 0.84 goals against average.
