Becky Brown Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Becky Brown, who scored the game-winning goal in Yale's 2-1 victory over Columbia, was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday. Brown knocked in the rebound of a Leslie Perez shot early in the second half to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. It was Brown's third game-winning goal of the season. Less than 24 hours later, she struck again, scoring the first goal in Yale's 2-1 win over New Hampshire.
Brown, a Lawrenceville, N.J., native, has started all 15 games for the Bulldogs. She is second on the team in goals with five and points with 12.
Following Friday's win over Columbia, Yale is 3-2 in Ivy play and tied with Harvard and Brown for third place. Penn and Princeton, who play Saturday night in Philadelphia, share the lead at 4-1.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, hosting Brown at 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
