Nov. 1, 2004
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Forward Stefanie Delvecchio, who tallied a goal and two assists in a pair of Yale victories, was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. In Yale's 3-2 win over Columbia, Delvecchio scored with 30 seconds left in the first half to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Earlier in the half, she assisted on a Laurel Karnes' goal that tied the score at 1-1. In a 3-0 victory over Rider, Delvecchio assisted on Yale's second goal.
Delvecchio, who has appeared in 12 games and has two goals and two assists, was a member of the Canadian National Team pool. In addition, she was among the top scorers in the 2003 Women's Premier Indoor League and the 2003 AAA LSEQ Quebec Provincial League.
The Bulldogs have won seven straight games and are 12-4 overall and 4-2 in Ivy play. A win at Brown on Saturday night in their regular season finale would tie the school record for overall victories in a season. Yale also won 13 games in 1992, 1996 and 1998.
