NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Emma Whitfield, who led Yale in scoring with 15 points, and Christina Huang, a four-time first team All-Ivy selection, were both named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region second team.
Whitfield, a sophomore, also earned first team All-Ivy honors. She started 16 games at forward and finished in the top 10 in the Ivy League in goals (t-8th, 5), assists (t-4th, 5) and points (8th, 15). Two of her goals were game-winners, against Montana and Fairfield. In two years, she has 13 goals and seven assists.
Huang, a senior, has enjoyed an outstanding career for the Bulldogs. She started 15 games this year and was Yale's anchor in the midfield and on defense. In August she was named to the Watch List for the Hermann Trophy, which is presented to the national player of the year. Huang is the only player in Yale history to be named first team All-Ivy in each of her four seasons.
The Bulldogs finished with an 8-7-2 overall record, their sixth straight winning season.
