Yale's Rudy Meredith has been named women's soccer Coach of the Year for the Northeast region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Meredith joins the five other regional winners as finalists for the national coach of the year award, which will be announced in early January.
Meredith led the Bulldogs to a 13-5 overall record in 2004, including a regular season ending eight-game win streak. The Bulldogs outscored opponents by a two-to-one margin this season (30 to 15), while posting nine shutouts on the season.
The Elis, who took second in the Ivy League race at 5-2, also went to the NCAA College Cup for the second time in three seasons under Meredith.
