Finished As Ivy League's Top Hitter

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The honors continue to come in for Yale catcher Sarah Onorato. She has been named to the NFCA Northeast Region second team as a catcher.

Onorato, who was selected as the Ivy League Player of the Year last week, finished as the league leader in batting average (.430), slugging percentage (.852), on base percentage (.497), runs scored (37), hits (64), doubles (19), home runs (14) and total bases (127).

She is currently fourth in the nation in doubles per game (0.4), 11th in slugging percentage and 23rd in batting average.

Onorato, who started all but one game behind the plate, set Yale single-season school records in hits (64), doubles (19) and home runs (14). Her .430 average tied her with Jennifer Fong (1993) for the highest in school history.

This is the second straight year a Yale player earned All-Region recognition. Jennifer Ong was named the first team second baseman last year.

Here are video highlights of Sarah's remarkable season.
