Seven Bulldogs Earn NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Honors

Yale Honored As All-Academic Team With 14th Highest GPA

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Seven Yale softball players have been named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. Riley Hughes, Brittany Labbadia, Kristen Leung, Jennifer Ong '13, Sarah Onorato, Liz Tutino '13 and Kelsey Warkentine '13 were all honored for their work in the classroom in 2012-13.

Leung, Warkentine and Ong were each recognized for the third straight year. Hughes and Onorato were selected for the second time.

The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2012-13 academic year. 

In addition, Yale was selected as an All-Academic Team. The Bulldogs had a 3.45 team grade point average in 2012-13, the 14th best in all of Division I.
