Kelley earned first team All-Ivy honors last spring. She led the Bulldogs in stolen bases with 21 and was second in runs scored (27) and third in batting average (.288) and hits (42) in addition to playing an outstanding defensive shortstop. In her last 20 games, she batted .435 (27 for 62) with 12 runs scored and eight RBI. She also had the first four-hit game of her career against Army, and had nine multi-hit games. As a sophomore Kelley started all 45 games, led the team in stolen bases with 14 and was fifth in batting (.248). Her top performance of the season was against Rider when she went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base. As a freshman, she was third on the team in stolen bases with eight. She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors once and was named to the New Haven City Series all-tournament team.
At Frontier Regional High School Kelley was part of a team that went 77-9, twice reached the state finals and won four league championships. She was a four-time first-team All-Western Massachusetts selection and three times received the Frontier Regional Best Defensive Player award. As a senior, Kelley was named the 2000 Western Massachusetts Player of the Year. She is the daughter of Ernest and Hsiu-Li Kelley.
