14 - Jessica Meyer
|Hometown:||Pembroke Pines, FL|
Meyer missed all of the 2006 season with an injury. When healthy, she is a key contributor both at the plate and in the circle. She earned her first career pitching victory in 2005 against Fairleigh Dickinson, allowing only five hits in 5.1 innings and walking one batter. She also was the winning pitcher against Hartford. At the plate, Meyer hit her first career home run in the first game of a doubleheader against Penn and then had two hits in the second game, one of her four multi-hit games. In her rookie season, Meyer enjoyed consistent playing time. Against Sacred Heart, her pinch-hit two-run single helped Yale to a 6-1 victory. She also went 2-for-2 with an RBI in a 5-0 victory over Vermont. In the circle, Meyer's longest outing came against Seton Hall when she went seven innings and allowed only four hits. Meyer was a three-year captain of the Charles W. Flanagan High School squad. She was named first team all-county and second team all-state as a senior. Meyer also received the scholar-athlete award at her high school. At Yale, Jessica majors in psychology and resides in Timothy Dwight College. She is the daughter of Jim and Lisa Meyer.
