KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Megan Enyeart had three hits, including a home run, and knocked in two as Yale blanked Bryant 6-0 at the Rebel Games. Deanna DiBernardi and Kayla Kuretich combined on the two-hit shutout in the circle. Earlier in the day, the Bulldogs fell to Maine 4-3 in their season opener. Mariclaire Rebman had two hits for Yale.

Against Bryant, the Bulldogs jumped on the board in the second inning. Enyeart led off with a line drive home run to centerfield. Yale then had the bases loaded with no outs, but Bryant starter Stephanie Barrett induced three straight ground ball outs to get out of the inning.

The Bulldogs loaded the bases again in the third and this time they took advantage. Lauren Huddleston started the three-run rally with an RBI single, and two more runs scored on a throwing error.

Yale added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth. Ashley Sloan doubled and later scored on a passed ball. Katie Yanagisawa then singled and scored on Enyeart's single.

DiBernardi pitched the first four innings and struck out one. Kuretich went the last three and did not allow a hit.

Yanagisawa and Huddleston had three hits each for the Bulldogs, and Katie Edwards added two hits.

In the first game of the day, Yale faced a Maine team that was playing its 22nd game of the season. Kirstin Allen hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Black Bears the lead, and they tacked on single runs in the third and fourth innings to go ahead 4-0.

The Bulldogs, though, rallied with a three-run sixth inning. Sloan led off with a triple and scored on Rebman's single. An error on Maine first baseman Terren Hall allowed Huddleston and pinch runner Chelsey Locarno to score. Yale had the tying run in scoring position in the inning, but Alexis Souhlaris came on to get out of the jam. She then retired the side in order in the seventh to preserve the win.

The Bulldogs outhit Maine 6-5.

Freshman Virginia Waldrop had her first career hit for Yale. McKynlee Westman also had a hit.

The Bulldogs play Butler at 11 a.m. and Bucknell at 1 p.m. on Monday.
