Yale dropped the final two games of its Florida trip, falling to Stetson 12-4 and 2-0 on Tuesday night. Kristy Kwiatkowksi provided the offense in game one with a two-run homerun in the second inning, followed two batters later by a solo shot from Niki Haab -- the freshman's first career homer. Beth Pavlicek doubled and scored in the third for Yale's other run. The game also saw Chelsea Kanyer extend her hitting streak to eight games with a single in the second.
Kanyer's streak was snapped in game two, as Yale was held without a baserunner until Emily Lederer was hit by a pitch leading off the sixth. Libby Peters followed with a single but the Bulldogs were unable to keep the rally going. Kwiatkowski added a double with two out in the seventh. Peggy Hunt took the tough loss, going the distance while allowing just two runs on eight hits.
Yale returns home to host Quinnipiac in a doubleheader Sunday at 1:00.
