Leah Kelley went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI as Yale topped Fairleigh Dickinson 5-3 in the first game of a college softball doubleheader. Kelley's two-run single in the second inning opened the scoring. Jesseka Bartholomew, who had three hits, followed with an RBI single to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Yale added single runs in the fourth and sixth. Peggy Hunt pitched a complete game, scattering 10 hits and allowing only one earned run. Serena Larsen had an RBI double in the first and a two-run single in the fourth for Fairleigh Dickinson (5-33).
In the second game, Jillian Miles tossed a complete game, allowing only five hits and striking out four as Yale cruised to a 6-1 victory. Laura Beckert and Chelsea Kanyer each had two hits for the Bulldogs, who went 25-9 in their final 34 games. Yale, which ends the season with a 27-23 overall record, scored twice in the first inning and three times in the second. Kimberly Farhat had an RBI single for the Knights.
Bartholomew had four hits in the doubleheader for Yale but finished her career with 187 hits, one shy of the school record held by Kathy Ching '00. Beckert, playing in her final game at Yale, extended her hitting streak to 17 games. Jackie Crispell, who also was making her final appearance in a Yale uniform, went 1-for-3 in the first game.
