NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 5 Yale women's squash team will begin its postseason run Friday at 11:30 a.m., when the Bulldogs host No. 4 Princeton in the opening round of Howe Cup play at the Brady Squash Center.
The Bulldogs have dropped three of their final four regular-season matches leading up to Friday's tournament opener. Princeton lost its final regular-season match, a 5-4 battle against No. 2 Trinity, on Feb. 20. Princeton has won three consecutive Howe Cups, but the Tiger program has fallen back slightly this season.
The Bulldogs will need to play their best squash against a strong Princeton squad that bested Yale earlier this season. On Jan. 30, the Tigers edged out the Bulldogs 5-4 at home. This time around, the Bulldogs will have the home-court advantage.
If the Bulldogs defeat the Tigers, they will face the winner of No. 1 Harvard and No. 8 Williams at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in the national semifinals.
