Three Bulldogs Named All-Americans
New Haven, Conn. - Yale women’s squash players Alia Aziz, Logan Greer and Sarah Toomey were all named 2010 CSA First-Team All-Americans.
Senior Alia Aziz, Yale’s captain during the 2009-2010 season, added her second All-American selection to a hardware collection that includes the 2010 Betty Richey Award. Aziz was a second-team All-American last season. Aziz posted a perfect 11-0 record in the regular season and finished with an overall record of 13-4, including the CSA Team and Individual Championships.
Junior Logan Greer, a 2007-2008 second-team and 2008-2009 first-team selection, finished the season 12-6 overall, including two wins in the CSA Team Championships and a semifinal appearance in the CSA Individual Championships. Greer, the No. 1 player on the Bulldogs’ ladder, got stronger as the season progressed, winning seven of her final ten matches, with all three losses coming against undefeated Ramsay Cup champion Laura Gemmell of Harvard.
Junior Sarah Toomey made her debut appearance as a first-team All-American after making the second-team in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. Toomey finished 14-3, including a perfect 3-0 record in the CSA Team Championships and a quarterfinal run at the CSA Individual Championships.
Yale’s trio of All-Americans propelled the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish in the Howe Cup and the final national standings.
