Hartford, Conn. – In a showdown between the two of the strongest college squash teams in the country, the Yale women once again showed off their depth and skill, handily defeating the No. 3-ranked Trinity squad by a 6-3 score. Although Yale lost tough matches in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, Yale swept positions No. 3 through No. 5, and No. 7 through No. 9 for the win.

Trinity sophomore Alicia Rodriguez started off the evening with a 3-0 win at the No. 6 position, but the Bulldogs set the tone of the match with strong wins by freshman Camilla Tomlinson and Lillian Fast at No. 3 and No. 9, respectively. Both overcame 1-0 deficits to win their matches by a 3-1 score. At No. 5, Yale junior Rhetta Nadas defeated Emery Holton in three sets. Gwendoline Tilghman also swept Trinity's Andrea Echeverria at No. 8. Wins from Yale's freshman Kimberly Hay and sophomore Katie Ballaine at No. 4 and No. 7, respectively, clinched the match for the Bulldogs.

This victory puts the Bulldogs in excellent position to take on their next opponents this upcoming weekend. The Bulldogs will host No. 6 Stanford (Friday, time TBA), No. 15 Franklin and Marshall (Friday at 3:30p.m.), Mount Holyoke (Saturday at 11:30 a.m.) and No. 20 Colby (Saturday at 4:30 p.m.) at the Brady Squash Center.
