NEW HAVEN, Conn. — No. 5 Yale returns from winter break this week with a busy slate of games. The Bulldogs will travel to matches with No. 13 Franklin and Marshall and No. 14 Drexel on Wednesday before opening the Ivy League season against No. 11 Columbia on Saturday and No. 6 Cornell on Sunday.

Yale will take on Franklin and Marshall (2-2) in its first match of the week. Franklin and Marshall began the season with a win against No. 32 Haverford and a tight 5-4 victory over Drexel before losing to No. 4 Princeton and No. 8 Dartmouth. Yale topped the Diplomats 9-0 in last year's match.

The Bulldogs' next opponent will be Drexel (2-5). Drexel's two victories came against No. 31 Johns Hopkins and No. 15 Williams, whom Yale defeated 9-0 earlier this season. The Dragons return eight of their top nine players from last season, in which they won the CSA's Most Improved Team Award.

On Saturday, Yale begins its campaign for an Ivy League Championship with a match against Columbia (1-1). The Lions defeated No. 12 George Washington, but lost 7-2 against Cornell. Yale beat Columbia 9-0 when they met last year.

The final match of the week comes Sunday against Cornell. Only one spot behind Yale in the rankings, Cornell (3-0) should provide tough competition, as it did in last year's closely fought contest, a 6-3 Yale victory.

While the Bulldogs will be away for both contests on Wednesday, a live video stream of the 11 a.m. match against Franklin and Marshall will be available here. Yale's weekend matches will both take place at 12 p.m. at the Brady Squash Center.
