Just several days after defeating Trinity's Anita Helal to help the Bulldogs upset the Bantams, Michelle Quibell bested the No. 1 seed again in the finals of the Constable Invitational to win the individuals tournament at Princeton University. Yale's Lauren McCrery was the champion in the 5.5 ladder of the tournament after defeating Megan Cerullo.
Quibell's victory came after she dropped the first game 5-9 to Helal. But she battled back to win the next three games 9-7, 9-1, 9-5 to take the tournament. Yale's Catherine McLeod won her third-place match in the Constable bracket in a hard-fought five-game match, defeating No. 4 seed Vaidehi Reddy 3-9, 9-5, 3-9, 9-4, 9-5.
McCrery's victory in the 5.5 final came in the form of a 9-3, 9-1, 9-1 game against Megan Cerullo , while Yale's Kate Rapisarda defeated Katy Brewster in the third place game by a 9-3, 9-0, 9-6 score.
The Elis will return to Princeton on Saturday for a match against the Tigers.
