Bulldogs Move Into Howe Cup Semifinals

Princeton, N.J. - The Ivy League Champion and National Champion Elis (12-0, 5-0 Ivy) took their first step towards repeating as Howe Cup Champion this afternoon at the L. Stockwell Jadwin Gymnasium at Princeton.

The Bulldogs drubbed Williams 9-0, winning all of the match's 27 games. At No. 2, Amy Gross defeated her opponent 9-1, 9-0, 9-0, but teammate Rachita Vora did Gross one better. The junior shutout her opponent in al three games, winning 27 consecutive points.

"There's a lot of pressure on the girls, but they played really relaxed today," Yale head coach Dave Talbott said. "I expect them to play really well these next two days."

With the win, Yale moves into the semifinals, where it will face host No. 4 Princeton tomorrow. The Elis defeated the Tigers 9-0 in New Haven in January.
