Bulldogs Advance to Howe Cup Finals

Feb. 19, 2005

Princeton, NJ - The No. 1 ranked Elis (13-0, 5-0 Ivy) moved into the Howe Cup finals with an 8-1 win over Ivy rival No. 4 Princeton on the Tigers' home courts.

The Tigers gave the Elis a tough test, but as in every match this year, the Bulldogs came out on top. Defending individual national champion Michelle Quibell held off Princeton's Claire Rein-Weston at No. 1, winning 10-8, 9-5, 10-8.

The Bulldogs got tougher as matches went longer, winning all four matches that went to four games.

Tomorrow, Yale looks to repeat as Howe Cup Champions and add another accolade to a seaon resume that already includes an Ivy League Championship and a National Championship.

Yale faces No. 2 Harvard for the title tomorrow afternoon.
