Titles Up For Grabs in Women's Squash
Feb. 12, 2004
New Haven, CT - Yale will face Harvard this Saturday at 3.30 p.m. at the Brady Squash Center with the Ivy and national women's squash titles on the line. A win for the Bulldogs (9-0 overall; 4-0 Ivy), would secure the Ivy League title as well as the Barhite Trophy, given to the national regular season dual match champions.
Bulldog head coach Mark Talbott identified the match between Yale's No. 1 Michelle Quibell (also No. 1 in collegiate squash) and Louisa Hall, the top Crimson player, as crucial for his team's success.
"This should be an interesting matchup. Michelle and Louisa are two of the three best women players in the country right now and they have a history of close matches," Talbott explained. "The rest of the matches should be tight as well, but I like our chances."
The Bulldogs will host the Howe Cup the following weekend (February 20-22) at the Brady Squash Center. The Howe Cup determines the team national championships.
