Yale Swimmer Sets Women’s Course Record in Victory

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Rising sophomore Abby Nunn won the 33rd annual 2-mile Chris Greene Lake Swim in a time of 40:39.67 to set a women’s course record and establish a new U.S. Masters Swimming national record for the 18-24 age bracket on July 11.  In becoming just the third female to win the overall title in the 33 years history of the event, Nunn also swam the course in the seventh faster time. 

Nunn also won the 1-mile event in a time of 20:02.38, another record for women between the ages of 18 and 24.  

In winning this event, Nunn defeated the three-time defending champion, who had to settle for second place. 

The race was the first USMS event for Nunn, who swims IM and distance freestyle at Yale.
