NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team has one more scrimmage lined up before it sees its first Ivy League opponent next week. This Friday the Southern Connecticut Owls will make the short trip from the West Rock area of New Haven to face off against the Bulldogs in Kiphuth Pool. Yale raced against McGill and Colgate last weekend and outperformed both teams to kick its season off in winning fashion, while SCSU is coming off a narrow loss to the College of Saint Rose.
The Bulldogs did not race against Southern Connecticut last season, but the two teams did see each other two years ago when the meet was held on a Monday afternoon at SCSU. The Bulldogs won the meet 190-108 despite having a number of swimmers who sat out after racing for three days straight at Boston University's Terrier Invitational, and those who raced at both had less than 24 hours to recover in between meets. Yale also won against SCSU in a dual season matchup three years ago, making this year's senior class undefeated against the Owls and looking to make it a three-peat this Friday.
The meet is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Robert J.H. Kiphuth Exhibition Pool in Payne Whitney Gymnasium.
