Bulldogs Wrap Up First Day vs. Harvard, Princeton

Fabian Wins 1000 Free

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team concluded the first day of competition vs. Harvard and Princeton Saturday at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. The Bulldogs showcased their strength in the distance events, taking three of the top five spots in the 1000 free -- including a first-place finish for sophomore Eva Fabian (9:56.90). Freshman Isla Hutchinson-Maddox was third (10:00.14) and sophomore Casey Lincoln was fifth (10:09.60).

Yale had a second-place finish in the 200 fly, where freshman Sydney Hirschi finished just .17 seconds behind first-place Nikki Larson of Princeton.

Freshman Kina Zhou added a third-place finish in the 50 free (23.45).

Yale's 200 medley relay team of freshman Michelle Chintanaphol, sophomore Ali Stephens-Pickeral, sophomore Kasey Mann and freshman Anna Wujciak finished fourth with a time of 1:46.01.

In the 400 IM exhibition that ended the day, senior Angela Lee finished second with a time of 4:29.45.

The meet concludes Sunday, with 1 meter diving at 9:45 a.m. and the second session of swimming at 12:05 p.m.  Results are available live at http://swimmeetresults.com/2014hypwomen/
