ATHENS, Ga. -- A couple of individuals from the Yale women's swimming and diving team competed at the Bulldog Invitational meet at the University of Georgia as a last chance for swimmers to make the NCAA qualifier time.
Bella Hindley competed in the A-finals heat and won first in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.71. Hindley also swam in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing fourth with a final time of 58.31. Her teammate Destiny Nelson competed in the 200-yard backstroke and finished second in the A-finals heat, touching the wall at a time of 1:56.28. Nelson also swam in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing first with a time of 4:16.68.
Both Hindley and Nelson made NCAA B-qualifier times in their respective events, and wait to hear back if they will be able to compete at the NCAA Championships.
