Heidi Finishes the Season

Heidi Finishes the Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Being the only swimmer for Yale at the NCAA Division I Championships, Heidi VanderWel competed in the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke. With this meet, she finished her final season as well as collegiate swimming career with strong performances, leaving no regrets behind.

In the 100-yard butterfly, VanderWel touched the wall with a time of 54.04, close to her season best of 53.40. In the 100-yard backstroke, she finished with a time of 55.04, just a few seconds off of her season best of 52.45. During each event, she raced her heat, out touching a few of her competitors to finish just before them.

Having completed her season and collegiate career strongly, VanderWel leaves the pool, looking forward to what postgraduation has in store for her.
