Danielle Korman, who coached 38 All-Americans and one national champion as an assistant at Johns Hopkins, has joined Jim Henry’s staff as an assistant women’s swimming and diving coach at Yale.

“I am very honored to be joining the Yale swimming and diving family,” Korman said. “The rich tradition and proven excellence of Yale, both academically and athletically, is something I can’t wait to be a part of.”

In four seasons at Johns Hopkins, Korman helped both the men’s and women’s teams to a pair of top-10 NCAA finishes. During her tenure, JHU swimmers broke 30 school records and the team earned CSCAA Academic All-America recognition four times. In 2012, Korman was named Honorable Mention Rising Assistant Coach of the Year by collegeswimming.com, and she was part of Women’s Conference Coaching Staff of the Year three times.

"I am thrilled to have Dani Korman joining me at Yale,” said Henry, who was hired as the head coach in June. “Dani is a proven coach, mentor and motivator. She has a fantastic ability to read her athletes and provide them with the knowledge and support to improve as swimmers and as people. After having worked with her at the Longhorn Swim Camp for two summers, I believe we complement each other’s strengths really well. We are both excited to get started."

Prior to Johns Hopkins, Korman served as the interim head coach of the Carthage College women’s team where she was named the 2008 Co-Coach of the Year, mentored five All-Americans and led the team to its first ever appearance in the NCAA Championship.

In addition, she has served as an assistant swim coach and counselor for the University of Texas/Total Performance Swim Camp, where she worked with Henry.

Korman is a 2006 graduate of Kenyon College where she was part of four national championship teams. She was a seven-time All-American at Kenyon and served as team captain as a senior.

She earned a Masters of Education with a concentration in guidance and counseling from Carthage in 2008.
