After arriving at Yale in the fall of 2012, Dani Korman enters her third year as assistant coach of the Yale women’s swimming and diving team.

In her first season with the Bulldogs in 2012-2013, she helped head coach Jim Henry to lead the team to a fourth-place finish at the Ivy League Championships and coached two athletes to the NCAA Division I Championships.

In her second season with the Bulldogs, Korman coached the team to a third-place finish at Ivy League Championships, an improvement upon the previous year.

Since Korman has been at Yale, multiple athletes have earned All-Ivy League honors and the majority of the school records have been re-set, and the team continues to improve under her watch.  Yale was also been named a CSCAA Scholar All-America team in both the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons.

Korman serves as the recruiting coordinator for the women’s swimming and diving team and her stellar efforts on the recruiting stage resulted in the class of 2018 being named the 17th best recruiting class in the nation, according to collegeswimming.com.  That ranking placed the Bulldogs only one spot behind the University of Arizona, which won the NCAA Division I Championships in 2014.

In 2012, Korman was named Honorable Mention Rising Assistant Coach of the Year by collegeswimming.com.  In 2014, she was nominated as Assistant Coach of the Year by collegeswimmingawards.com.  She was also a speaker at the CSCAA National Convention in 2014.

Her prior collegiate coaching experience includes assistant coach at Johns Hopkins, where she helped both the men’s and women’s teams to a pair of top-10 NCAA finishes. Prior to Johns Hopkins, Korman served as the interim head coach of the Carthage College women’s team where she was named the 2008 Co-Coach of the Year and led the team to its first ever appearance in the NCAA Championship.  In addition, she has served as an assistant swim coach and counselor for the University of Texas/Total Performance Swim Camp, where she worked with Henry.

Korman is a 2006 graduate of Kenyon College where she was part of four national championship teams. She was a seven-time All-American at Kenyon and served as team captain as a senior.  She earned a Masters of Education with a concentration in guidance and counseling from Carthage in 2008.
