Cristina Teuscher, an Olympic medalist and multiple NCAA champion at Columbia, was named Yale's Robert J.H. Kiphuth Head Coach of Women’s Swimming and Diving on May 6, 2010.
Teuscher came to Yale from Crimson Aquatics, a private USS Swimming Club in Boston that focuses on developing national caliber athletes. She also was a consultant and coach at the Badger Swim Club in Larchmont, N.Y., and served on the 2008 USA Olympic swim coaches six-member selection committee.
At Columbia, Teuscher was a four-time NCAA champion. She won 12 Ivy League titles and set 17 school records. In her four collegiate seasons, she never lost an individual race, including all she entered in the NCAA championships. As a senior, she received the Honda Award as the nation’s top collegiate swimmer and was later honored with the Honda-Broderick Cup as the best collegiate women’s athlete in the United States.
Teuscher won a gold medal as a member of the record-setting 800 freestyle relay at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Four years later, she medaled again at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, earning a bronze in the 200 individual medley, while serving as captain of the U.S. team.
Following her graduation from Columbia in 2000, she worked at the Robin Hood Foundation in its 9/11 Relief Effort and had a two-year stint as an analyst with Ziff Brothers Investments.
In addition to her duties with the Bulldogs, Teuscher is on the board of directors for the Collegiate Women's Sports Awards.
Dominique Diezi O'Brien

Dominique Diezi O'Brien, a two-time Olympian for Switzerland, was named assistant coach for the Yale women's swimming and diving team in the summer of 2011.
A native of Zurich and a member of the Switzerland's National team from 1992-2004, Diezi O'Brien competed in two Olympics (1996 in Atlanta and 2004 in Athens) and several World and European Championships. She graduated from Northwestern with a degree in economics and international studies in 2001. During her career, she earned multiple All-America honors and held NU school and Swiss national records in various sprint events.
Diezi O'Brien comes to Yale after five seasons with Southern Methodist. She helped the Mustangs to four straight Conference USA Championships, and SMU finished in the top 20 at NCAAs three times in her tenure. While at SMU, Diezi O'Brien worked with many international student-athletes who represented their countries on the European, World and Olympic stages. In 2010, she graduated from SMU with a Masters in Education, specializing in English as a second language (ESL).
Diezi O'Brien has worked as a counselor for Swiss Swimming in age group development programs. She has also worked swim camps at various universities in the United States.
In addition to her work as a coach, Diezi O'Brien has also served as a freelance translator and as an ESL teacher for adults and children. Aside from English and German, she also speaks French and Spanish.

Chris Bergère

Chris Bergère, who spent eight years at the helm of the diving program at the University of Michigan, was named the men’s and women’s diving coach at Yale in the fall of 2010. Bergère helped the Wolverine men’s program to seven top-10 national finishes in swimming and diving during his tenure and was named the Big Ten Women’s Diving Coach of the Year in 2008.
With the Michigan men, Bergère coached Jason Coben to the 2003 NCAA platform diving championship, the first in school history. Coben won the platform diving title and was named the Big Ten Conference Diver of the Championships in both 2003 and 2004. The Wolverines claimed three Big Ten championships during his tenure.
The women's swimming and diving program twice finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships during his coaching career and claimed the 2004 conference title. Bergère helped Elyse Lee qualify for three straight NCAA Championships during her career, capping it with All-America honorable mention in the one-meter springboard with a 14th-place finish at the 2008 NCAAs.
On the international scene, Bergère led the United States diving team at the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia. It marked the second time he coached the national team at that level (2003). He was a diving coach at the 2004 Olympic Trials.
Bergère joined the Michigan coaching staff following 17 years as the head men's and women's diving coach (1986-2002) at his alma mater, LaSalle University. He was named the conference's Diving Coach of the Year eight times during his tenure with the Explorers, including four straight seasons from 1999 through 2002. Bergère was asked to lead the LaSalle program immediately following his graduation in 1986 with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in personnel and labor relations and marketing.
