Emma is a graduate of The Pingry School in Martinsville, New Jersey. At age nine, she started swimming for the Summit Area YMCA Seals and completed her YMCA swimming career as captain her junior and senior year of high school. She also competed in three short course YMCA Nationals and was also named a Scholastic All-American by USA Swimming. At Pingry, she lettered all four years and was also a member of the State Championship Field Hockey team. At Yale, Emma contributes to the backstroke and sprint freestyle and butterfly events. She has achieved personal bests in both backstroke events and has competed in the ECAC Championships at Pittsburg and Harvard. Emma's proudest athletic moment was witnessing her best friend qualify for YMCA Nationals right before she swam her own race. Emma is double majoring in History of Art and Political Science with concentrations in Urban Studies and Architectural History and hopes to pursue a career in city planning.
