Meg placed third at Ivies in the 100 butterfly, seventh in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free in 2005. She was also the freestyle leg in the Yale record-breaking 400 Medley Relay, which won the Ivy Championship at the 2005 meet. She is a Classical Civilization major concentrating in Latin. In high school Meg competed for cross country team and was All-South in cross country and winner of Manhattan Invitational. Meg's pre-Yale swimming accomplishments are grounded in her club team, the state championship and sectional runner-up, Poseidon Swim Team coached by Ted Sallade. In her senior year, Meg was valedictorian of her class and named Chesterfield County's Student of the Year. Meg is also the winner numerous scholarships, including the Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection, The Richmond Times Dispatch Sports Backers, and the Executive Women's Leadership awards. Meg's most memorable athletic experience before coming to Yale was her participation in her butterfly events at Junior Nationals. She has come a long way since then and now lists as her "most memorable experience" her breakthrough race at the 2004 HYP. As a freshman Meg won the 100 butterfly from an end lane and an early heat while dropping over a second from her previous best time.
