Erica was a four-year letter winner in swimming at Sycamore High
School. She was captain of her team her senior year. During her
time on the team, they were State Championship Finalists and GMC
Champions. Individually, she was GMC First Team All Conference, an
All-American, Most Improved Swimmer, Sycamore Newcomer Award winner
and Cincinnati Enquirer Honorable Mention. Academically, Erica was
Valedictorian, an AP Scholar with Distinction and the varsity
athlete with the highest GPA. She was a National Merit Finalist and
winner of a P&G Scholarship. Personal: Erica is in Branford
College. She is interested in majoring in biology on a neurobiology
track. She eventually wants to follow a career in medicine. In her
free time, she enjoys playing the flute, painting, drawing and her
cat. During the summers, she has lifeguarded, interned at
Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and interned as part of Howard
Hughes ExSEL program. Her father Junan attended Tunghai University,
while her mother Jennifer attended the National Tsing Hua
University. Her twin brother Jason attends Ohio State University.
Why I Choose Yale:
"I picked Yale because I liked it the best when I visited -- it
felt like home to me. I also wanted to balance my possible
science-centered major with the arts and humanities, and I felt
Yale was the best for that."
