As captain of the Yale Women's Swimming and Diving Team, Aidan
hopes to lead her team to a successful season. An All-Ivy Team
member, Aidan competed in the Ivy League Championships and finished
fifth in the 100 yard butterfly and twelfth in the 200 yard
butterfly. She has attended eleven YMCA Nationals and was National
Champion in the 50, 100 and 200 meter Butterfly during various Long
Course YMCA Nationals. As a result of her YMCA success, Aidan was
chosen twice to train at the Olympic Training Center both in 2003
and 2004. A graduate of Cheshire High School in Cheshire, CT Aidan
hails from a great swimming tradition. Cheshire High girls' swim
team has not lost a dual meet since 1983. She was the Connecticut
State High School Champion in the 100 butterfly for three
consecutive years. A seven time All-American, Aidan has contributed
to many successful relays in addition to her own individual wins.
Aidan's most memorable athletic moment was when she witnessed her
older sister and teammates win the 400 Yard Medley Relay at the
2001 Spring YMCA Nationals. From watching her sister's success
Aidan drew much inspiration as a thirteen year old and aspired to
stand on top of the winner's stand herself.
