Bulldogs Sweep Cornell, Navy

Final Stats

Annapolis, Md. - Yale women's swimmers and divers won eight events on the way to a sweep of Cornell and host Navy, beating the Big Red 205-94 and the Midshipmen 174.5-124.5.

Three Bulldogs -- Laura Aronsson, Moira McCloskey and Melanie Loftus -- each won a pair of events. Aronsson took the 800 freestyle in 9:05.34 and the 400 free in 4:27.30. McCloskey won the 100 back backstroke in 1:05.26 and the 200 back in 2:19.96.

Loftus swept the diving events. She tallied a score of 255.75 in the one-meter, and her score of 283.05 was 16.25 points better than the second-place finisher in the three-meter.

The Elis' most dominant performance came in the 200 butterfly. Liz Berger won the event in 2:22.67, followed by Tory Nelson and Katelyn Kane.

Caroline Stephenson had Yale's other win, finishing the 200 breaststroke in 2:38.72.
