New Haven, CT - The Bulldogs concluded their regular season with a 183-116 victory over Brown Saturday in Providence. Yale took first place in 11 of the 16 events.
The Bulldogs 200-yard medley relay `A' team started the team off on the right note with a first place finish. Freshman Becca Stern, senior Caroline Dowd, sophomore Andrea Clifford, and junior Alexis Mann combined for a time of 1:48.29 to win the race.
In the 1000-yard free, junior Laura Strittmatter took first place with a time of 10:18.87. Freshman Annie Killian edged Stritmatter for a first place finish in the 200-yard free. Killian took first with a time of 1:55.81. Strittmatter edged Killian in the 500-yard free by 6 seconds.
The Bulldogs swept the top three slots in the 100-yard breast. Sophomore Susan Kim took first with a time of 1:06.26. Dowd and junior Marilee Kiernan took second and third with times of 1:06.90 and 1:07.85, respectively.
The same three Bulldogs also swept the top three slots in the 200-yard breast. Kim finished in 2:14.40 for first. Dowd and Kiernan took second and third with times of 2:24.32 and 2:26.74, respectively.
In the 200-yard fly, freshman Ileana Lucos earned first place with a time of 2:06.02.
Mann took first in the 50-yard free with a time of 24.64. Sophomore Laura Grigereit took first place over Mann in the 100-yard free by less than two-tenths of a second.
Senior Ali Jones swept the two diving events. In the 1-meter diving, she earned first with a score of 249.22. Jones's 266.02 in the 3-meter diving was good for first.
