Yale Captures Third Place at Ivies

The Bulldogs finished third at the Ivy Championships, trailing behind Princeton and Harvard with 1,211 points to second-place Harvard's 1,344.5. In the third day of action, Daphna Shafir won the 200 butterfly to pace the Elis.

Shafir's time of 2:02.27 led all swimmers in the 200 fly, while Amy Hancock finished fifth in the event in 2:04.49. Yale swimmers were also impressive in several other events.

Both Laura O'Brien and Cristina Hession earned NCAA-B times in the 1650 freestyle, with O'Brien finishing second in a time of 16:47.62 and Hession coming in at 16:49.71.

Yale's 400 freestyle relay team finished second to Brown with a time of 3:26.03, which gave them a USA National time. The team was comprised of Meg Gill, Moira McCloskey, Chase Butler, and Paige Harazin.
