MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sophomore Deb Gruen finished in first place in the 100 LC Meter Breaststroke Multi-Disability SB6 at the 2008 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Trials at the University of Minnesota Thursday.
Gruen shined in the race with an unbelievable time of 1:44.57. After placing first in the preliminaries with a time of 1:45.47, Gruen improved her time by almost a full second in the final race of the event.
In the 400 LC Meter Freestyle Multi-Disability S7, Gruen placed third with a time of 6:00.75. Gruen qualified for the final race with a third place finish in the preliminaries in a time of 6:04.29.
