Yale Women Finish Fifth Overall at Terrapin Cup

The women's swim team wrapped up the Terrapin Cup with 230 points, good for a fifth place overall finish. Moira McCloskey was Yale's top swimmer during the 3-day Invitational, earning 4th, 7th, and 10th place finishes in the final heats.

In the 200 Individual Medley, McCloskey's time of 2:08.69 earned her the 10th place finish, while Megan Bailey came in 12th in the consolation heat. Danielle Page got 8th place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:35.16, with Bailey posting a 15th place finish.

In butterfly events, Becca Knicely swam a 57.94 in the 100 fly to finish 11th. In the 200 fly, Liz Berger, Meg Gill, Amy Hancock, and Emily Drilling finished 12th, 13th, 14th, and 16th respectively.

Holly Mazar came in 13th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.93, while Kristin Cartoski finished 15th. Cartoski also earned a ninth place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.14, while Page and Mazar came in 11th and 15th.

McCloskey did well in the backstroke events, taking fourth place in the 100-yard race with a time of 57.78 and earning 7th in the 200 with a time of 2:04.50.

In diving, Melanie Loftus got 5th place in the 1-meter finals and second place in the 3-meter contest with point totals of 216.24 and 402.21.

The Bulldogs will host Maine in New Haven on Monday at 12:00 noon.
