PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Bulldogs finished out competition at the Galbraith Diving Invitational Sunday with the one-meter diving. Freshman Rachel Rosenberg again made it into the finals, placing eighth with a score of 213.99. The winner, Karen Upperco of the University of Massachusetts, finished with a score of 265.98.
Yale struggled in the morning prelims, more so than it did on Saturday. Junior Marisa J Poverman was Yale's second highest finisher, behind Rosenberg. Poverman finished 16th overall, based on her prelim score of 173.55. The final cut to make the finals was Rosenberg's preliminary score of 217.25. Senior Cameron Murphy and freshman Elizabeth Andrekovich were just behind Poverman in the 18th and 19th place slots, respectively. Murphy put up a prelim score of 167.45, while Andrekovich recorded a 162.90 score.
Rosenberg saw a bit of a drop off from her prelim to final score. Still, Rosenberg's score of 213.99 was 4.71 points behind seventh place, but 51.99 points behind first.
The University of Massachusetts took the top two spots on both days. Annie Fogerty and Upperco alternated spots with Fogerty winning the three-meter and Upperco winning the one-meter. Third place in the one-meter was claimed by Erin Saunders of Rutgers, with a score of 240.48.
Yale's diving team will head to itstraining trip in Florida and return to action against Cornell and Navy on Jan. 9th.
