New Haven, CT - Sophomore Deb Gruen will compete for the 2008 Paralympics Swimming Team USA in the Paralympics in Beijing this September.
The announcement comes after Gruen concluded an outstanding weekend of competition at the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Trials this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the University of Minnesota.
Gruen set a world record in the 200 LC Meter Breaststroke Multi-Disability SB6 with a time of 3:36.37. Gruen also captured first place in the 100 LC Meter Breastroke Multi Disability SB6.
She finished third place in the 400 LC Meter Freestyle Multi-Disability S7, the 50 LC Meter Butterfly Multi-Disability S7, and the 200 LC Meter IM Multi-Disability SM7.
