New Haven, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team continued play at the Georgia Tech Invitational Saturday, completing eleven matches on the day, facing Georgia Tech in singles and Oklahoma State in doubles.
In Flight 1 singles play, junior Vicky Brook defeated Yellowjacket Elizabeth Kilborn 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. In Flight 2, freshman Blair Seideman fell to Christina Ngo 6-4, 6-2. In Flight 3, sophomore Elizabeth Epstein lost to Jillian O'Neill 6-2, 6-2.
Tech's Sasha Krupina defeated freshman Kim Szokol 6-2, 6-5 in Flight 4. In flight 5, freshman Annie Sullivan lost to Lynn Blau 6-4, 6-3, while in Flight 6, Yellowjacket Caroline Lilly defeated senior Lindsay Clark 6-0, 6-2. Junior Stephanie Kent lost 6-2, 7-5 to Alina Jerjomna in Flight 7. In Flight 9, Rachel Hart of Georgia defeated Silia DeFilippis 6-4, 6-3.
In a close Flight 1 doubles match, the Bulldog duo of Brook and Clark lost to OSU's Shatkouskaya and Narattana 9-8 (10-8). In Flight 2, Seideman paired with freshman Kim Szokol to defeat Belova and Meghoufel 9-7. In Flight 3, Epstein and Sullivan emerged victorious over Buslaieva and Sardinha in an 8-6 match.
The Invitational concludes Sunday, with the Bulldogs facing Oklahoma State in singles and Georgia in doubles play.
