NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Friday, the Yale women's tennis team topped FDU 7 -0 at the Cullman-Heryman Tennis Center.
Yale started off with a 3-0 victory in doubles. In the top spot, senior Vicky Brook and freshman Hanna Yu, ranked No. 27 nationally, won 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, No. 37 ranked junior Elizabeth Epstein and sophomore Annie Sullivan also won their match, by a score of 8-0. Finally, at No. 3, the No. 41 ranked duo of sophomore Blair Seideman and senior captain Steph Kent won their match by a score of 8-1.
In singles, at No. 1, Epstein won her match 6-1, 6-2 over Elmine Botes.
At No. 2, Seideman won 6-0, 6-2.
In the third spot, it was Yu, who won her match 6-2, 6-0.
At No. 4, Kent was victorious 6-2, 6-0.
Fifth was Sullivan, who won 6-0, 6-0.Finally, in the sixth spot, freshman Amber Li won 6-3, 6-0.
Tomorrow, Yale will face Boston College, the tournament's fourth seed, which topped fifth seed Dartmouth 7-0 on Friday.
