NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team will send five members to Flushing Meadows this weekend to play in the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center Women's College Invitational.
The most veteran player attending from Yale will be senior Sarah Guzick, playing for the second time this year, returning to the court after winning the doubles championship at the Cissie Leary Invitational with junior Annie Sullivan.
Joining Guzick as a veteran influence will be sophomore Amber Li, who also last played in the Cissie Leary Invitational, where she and fellow sophomore Hanna Yu fell in the finals to Guzick and Sullivan.
The other three Bulldogs travelling down to New York will be the three freshmen on the team: Courtney Amos, Madeleine Hamilton and Ree Ree Li. Amos' last action also came at the Cissy Leary Invitational, where she won the singles championships of the B Flight. Hamilton and Li both played in the Duke Fab Four Invitational instead of at Cissie Leary, where both grabbed the first wins of their careers as both collegians and Bulldogs.
Draws for this weekend's tournament have not yet been posted, but this article will be updated when they become available.
