Yale Sweeps Brown in Semifinals

NEW YORK —Saturday at the ECAC Indoor Championships the No. 32-ranked Yale women's tennis team earned a quick 4-0 decision over Brown to advance to the tournament's finals. The Bulldogs are the tournament's highest ranked team and the four-time defending champions.

Yale got off to a quick start with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to seal the doubles point. Sophomores Madeleine Hamilton and Ree Ree Li played No. 1 but saw their doubles match go unfinished.

With a 1-0 lead heading into singles, the Bulldogs made quick work of their Ivy League opponents. Senior captain Annie Sullivan, Ree Ree Li and junior Hanna Yu earned two-set wins at Nos. 2, 4 and 5, respectively, to put the match out of reach. Hamilton, freshman Sherry Li and sophomore Courtney Amos had their matches called early.

The Bulldogs will play No. 51 Columbia tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in the tournament championship match.
