Bulldogs Win All Matches in Doubles and Singles
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team achieved a resounding 7-0 victory at home against Quinnipiac. Yale won every single match in doubles and singles.
Junior Valerie Shklover and sophomore Amy Yang teamed up to claim Yale's first victory of the day, defeating Proyfon Lohaphaisan and Kelsi Oliphant 6-1 at No. 3 doubles. In the No. 2 spot, junior Carol Finke and freshman Opala Dhingra swept past Sitilia Rencheli and Layla Rodriguez 6-0 to take the doubles point. Senior Caroline Lynch and junior Elizabeth Zordani played a closer match but ultimately overcame Rachel Horton and Sydney Young 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.
All six of the Bulldogs who played at doubles returned to the courts to compete at singles. On court 4, Zordani added a second point to Yale after defeating Young 6-3, 6-2. Lynch then overcame Rodriguez 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles before Yang clinched the match with her 6-1, 6-4 victory against Horton in the No. 2 spot.
On court 6, Dhingra also claimed a straight-sets victory, defeating Lohaphaison 6-3, 6-4. Returning to the No. 1 spot, Finke came back from a second-set loss after winning the first to defeat Rencheli 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Shklover also fought through a three-set match, winning against Jennifer Lu at No. 3 singles.

The Bulldogs are slated to play a doubleheader on Sunday, Mar. 5. Competing at home, Yale will take on Fairfield at 10:00 a.m. and UConn at 4:00 p.m.
